Class exercise --- no.4 (Designing Color Collections)

Violet

I like the violet color.  Because this color give me elegant feeling.  When a lady wear a evening dress in violet, the lady will give the elegant, noble, mysterious feeling to other people.

I make a color mood board in violet.

 

This is the Violet color mood board designed by me.  The dresses are copied from style.com.  The board combined flower, butterfly, accessories, dress, etc., they are all in violet.

Violet is elegant, noble and mysterious color.  Do you think so?

Color Analysis --- My friends 2

He is my brother.  He is a student now.

He like sports, so he always wear very casual.

He like violet color, but not always wear in this color.  Because I found that he just have one T-shirt was in violet.  He said that he like violet, but he don't mind what colors of his wearing.

That day he bicycles with his friends.  He wears a greyish green shirt, a white T-shirt, and match a grey short pants and black shoes.

He uses Achromatic Color theory with greyish green that day.

She is my friend. She love wear in black color.

She is a Fashion designer working in Kowloon.

She wears grey T-shirt with white layer, black short pants and black sandals.  She use Achromatic color theory to be her that day's style.

She like Achromatic Color, because she think that Achromatic color make her look like more professional.

Exercise (week 3) 2

The second of the Shop colors design class exercise.

Different color theory of the first shop color design exercise.  It use monochromatic Color theory of the store design.  The products color also use monochromatic Color theory.  But, the model wear a violet shirt, it in front of the window.  I use this color, because the com. color theory of the product and the store design can attract the customer to come the store.

My Analysis Result of Sonia Rykiel (Color Hue)

There are 5 hues I found Sonia Rykiel always use in Spring / Summer of 2004-2009.  The five hues are Orange, Yellow, Violet, Green and Blue.

This is the hue in Orange.

This is the hue in Yellow.

This is the hue in Violet.

This is the hue in Green.

This is the hue in Blue.

I predict that Sonia Rykiel will also have those color hues in coming Spring / Summer Season.  In Sonia Rykiel Achromatic Colors are common. I think that the new colors hues may add in this brand in coming season, because of the new designer was joined in this brand.

 I think that Monochromatic color theory will still used in this brand in coming season, but other theories will be added.  It is because the new designer was join the brand.  

I just read the magazine and I found that Sonia Rykiel's Spring / Summer 2009 is 40'th Anniversary.  This Brand invite Margiela to join their design team and design the collection.  In this season, Sonia Rykiel, Margiela, and Sonia Rykiel's daughter design more than 100 outfits for this collection.  In this season, the brand use a new color, it is "Hot Red".  Sonia Rykiel use this color very little in previously seasons.  Although Sonia Rykiel had use this hue, but not very often use the "Hot Red" color.  So, I think that this color may be added by the invitee Designer Margiela, or this color may be added by Sonia Rykiel's daughter.  Because after Sonia Rykiel's daughter joined the design team of this brand the color hues are increasing.  

Therefore, I think that in the coming new season, new color hues and new color theories will also apply in this brand.

Achromatic Color Theory, Monochromatic Color Scheme match with Achromatic Color and Monochromatic Color Scheme are the most used in Sonia Rykiel's Collection in 2004-2009.

In this year, Sonia Rykiel used the most theory is Monochromatic Color Scheme with Achromatic Colors.  There are 38% used this theory.  And the Second most is Achromatic Color Theory.  There are 31% used this theory.

The designer did not use 3 scheme this year.  They are Analogic and Complimentary Color Scheme, Analogous Color Scheme,  and Triadic Color Scheme.

In this year, Sonia Rykiel used the most theory is Monochromatic Color Scheme with Achromatic Colors.  There are29% used this theory.  And the Second most is Achromatic Color Theory.  There are 26% used this theory.

The designer did not use 2 scheme this year.  They are Double Complimentary Color Scheme,  and Triadic Color Scheme.
