Sonia Rykiel

My Group selected "Sonia Rykiel" to study.

Sonia Rykiel is a international brand, the first boutique was opened at May 1986, in Paris.  Sweater is the brand's signature, the designer is the fashion world's "Queen of Knitwear".

The homepage of the Web site uses Achromatic Colors (Low Chroma, No Hue) to be the background.  The image photo at the homepage use Achromatic Color with Shades' Red (Adding black to Pure Red)

The color theory of the Sonia Rykiel's Homepage photo is "Sequence of Color".  It was because each color appears in certain order to succession, keeps the same position in each repeat, and leads the eye in the direction of progression.

Exercise (week 3) 1

This Fashion boutique uses Achromatic (Grey) with  constant chroma color (Violet).  I use the theory of "Balance of Color".  It was because I use 3 main colors in this Fashion boutique.  They are Grey, Violet, and Golden.  And I changes their bright and dull to balance color schemes.

The Product's color range is in  Monochromatic Color Scheme.  Because I change the same color's brightness in the product's color range.

The overall color theory is "Complimentary Color scheme" applied in the Fashion boutique and the product's color.

This is the adv. of Giorgio Armani.

It uses the theory of "Alternation of Color".  It was because it uses 2 colors changing back and forth in the same order lead the eye in the direction of the regular exchange.

This is another adv. of Dolce & Gabbana.

This collection used Double Complimentary Color Scheme.

This collection with Constant Chroma.  Active mood was showed.

Primary , Secondary and Tertiary color was used.  Yellow and Blue are Primary Color.  Violet and Green are Secondary Color.  Violet-Red is Tertiary Color.

Burberry Color analysis

The first Burberry Pattern used Monochromatic Color Scheme.  It uses the same colour (light brown) but changes the brightness and saturation to achieve different shade and tints.

They are the colors used in the first Burberry Pattern. 

The Pantone Color:

The second Burberry Pattern used Monochromatic Color Scheme.  It uses the same colour (pink) but changes the brightness and saturation to achieve different shade and tints.

After the analysis, I found that Burberry like to use the Monochromatic Color Scheme, with some low Chroma (achromatic, no hue) color. 

Comme des Garçons (S/S 2008)

These are some of photos in Comme des Garcons Spring / Summer 2008 collection. 

The first outfit is used 3 colors.  They are dark blue, pink and yellow.  It is used "Triadic Color Scheme".  Because it uses the color at 120 degree around the color wheel.

The second is used 3 colors.  They are light violet, pink and yellow.  It is used "Split Complimentary Color scheme.  Because it is similar to complimentary but chooses the adjacent colors 30 degree each way of the compliment.

The third outfit is used 4 colors.  They are blue, white, light violet, pink.  It uses "Analogic Color Scheme".  Because this scheme uses 3 adjacent colors.  The base color plus 2 colors 30 degree either side.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring / Summer 2009 ready-to wear

This outfit is Dolce & Gabbana Spring / Summer 2009 ready-to wear.  It use warm color in this outfit.  Primary color (red) was used.  This dress uses high volume, and high chroma red color.  Monochromatic Color Scheme was used in this outfit.

This outfit give a feeling, that is passionate.

I always have the strange imaginations.

If all the colors in this earth are not the same as now, then... what will happen of the humans??

- Become crazy...? 

- Try to study why it happen...& try to make the colors same as before...?

- Although... don't habit, nothing to do... & continue their life?

- Or, think that not affect their life, and continue their work...?

I think that if it really happen...  Not only all the designers in different fields are affected, but also all the humans in this earth cannot life as before, because they need to "re-habit" what they see... 

e.g... Humans need to re-learn the colors on the traffic light.

It just my strange imagination.  

It certain do not happen in the earth....  ^^

But if one day you have chance to go to another planet, the colors in there may not the same as earth!!~

Summer Holiday~

Yesterday 1/9/08, is the day we back to school. I create this blogger to record the colors which I see in my life.

In this Summer Holiday, I have a trip in China's "Jiang nan". Just back the day before yesterday. It was a nice trip, because I can see many natural color in there. I think that the natural color tone can make us have a relax. Although I don't know the theory now, I post some of the photos here first. After I know I will write down the theory later. Hope those photos can make you all feel relax~^^
